I am an adult and I started by teaching myself violin for a year, and then I took lessons (and still am) from a teacher. As I write this review, I have been playing for about a year and a half. I am pretty comfortable with 1st position and have just started learning 3rd position within the past month or so. I bought this book to add some variety to my practice sessions. I took a risk when buying it since there were no other reviews for this book, so hopefully this one is helpful for you!The music in this book is all in first position. Most of the songs are in F major (with B flat), but there is also a little D major and E flat major. I have the soundtrack and have always enjoyed it; if you know anything about the score for this film, the Titanic theme runs through almost every song, so that makes all of the songs a little easier to play! Knowing what the songs are supposed to sound like helps me with playing them, as I struggle with keeping tempo and knowing the length of notes and whatnot; if you are in the same boat, look up the songs on YouTube (especially the tougher ones) so you know how they should sound. Unfortunately, the soundtrack is in a different key than the book, so you can't use the real songs to play along with at the same time.The first few and last couple of songs are fairly easy in terms of key signatures and notes (accidentals, the "speed" of the notes, etc). The songs in the middle of the book are too difficult for me at this point in my violin career; this is due to the E flat major key signature for one particular song (which if I putzed, I'm sure I could figure it out, but it just looks daunting at first glance!). Also, some of the notes are REALLY fast and crazy for my current level of playing. Again, I could take it very slow and figure it out, but with where I am in lessons right now, I can only play about 2/3 of the book.It's nice that some of the pieces are easy and others are a challenge- the easy ones get my confidence up, and the tougher ones give me something to work towards. All in all, I'm very glad I bought this book. At about $6, it's not very expensive, and it helps keep my playing interesting. I would recommend it!
This is a great collection of the music from the Titanic in solo form for flute. The pieces sound great alone, and although nothing compares to the symphony in the movie, the music alludes to the full melody of the piece. There are few harmonies to be found, except when played in duet. The book feels great, it's crisp, clean, and has normal (and readable) notation. I love this book!
I bought this so I could play my heart will go on for my Mom. It is a more simplistic version but very pretty.
I love playing my flute and the music in here is fabulous. I love the Titanic so what better way to appreciate my favorite movie then by playing some of its music?! :)

Gave this to granddaughters who play the flute. They also had great-great uncles on the Titantic. Some family history in easy doses.
Was hoping it had the song " Nearer my God to thee",but otherwise the book is great, not sorry I bought it.
A few songs are beginner easy, while the rest are a challenge. I've enjoyed learning the music and the new techniques as a beginner.
